- Counting
We will be reading several stories about Thanksgiving. Our focus skill for the week is comparing and contrasting. We will also be working on listening and writing the middle sounds in words. The students have been learning how to "chop" the words in order to hear each sound when writing.
RAZ kids--A Literacy Resource
The Aurora City Schools has purchased another resource for your child to use to increase their literacy skills. It's called RAZ kids and you can download it for FREE! We have taught all the children how to log on and put in their password. Now, we are sending home the information so that your child can access it at home as well as school. This resource, much like Storia, offers students an opportunity to read books at their level, answer comprehension questions and earn stars for completing these tasks. The kids have found this to be highly motivating because they use the stars to purchase pieces to build a robot! Please look for the log in information to come home this week. Have fun reading and building!
Math
We are working on several activities to build the concept of subtraction. We are also working on number recognition, counting and number formation.
Have a great week!
